Yipeeee!

What a great weekend huh? Well, Sunday anways! We were outside Sunday from 1pm until 7:45pm! The kids did not even stop to take a nap! We had my sister-n-laws over and then neighbors continued to drop by...it was lovely. But now, the kids and I woke up this morning hacking and sneezing and my voice seemed to be taken over by the truck driver down the road who smokes 3 packs a day.

Other than that it was totally worth it! Saturday I did laundry and cleaned, and that felt good to get that out of the way. My poor little husband had already gotten a cold and was needing to be babied A LOT. Oh well.

Friday I had my doctor visit and an ultrasound. My visit was fantastic, as always since my midwife is a hoot! Today I think we talked about kids roomming together and why she only had two kids...hilarious. But the greatest news which I wasn't expecting was her telling me that if I don't gain any weight in two more weeks, she's going to have to yell at me to eat more! What??!!That was the best news ever! See, my last two pregnancies I gained roughly almost 40 pounds! This time, ok, drum roll please...dadadadadaddaadada 14.4 pounds!! How is that possible? Here's my conclusion. With Brady, my first, I napped a ton, and I mean alot, and got up and snacked like twice a night and had like a mini breakfast when I got up, (I worked at 6:30 in the morning then) and then bigger breakfast at work. And did I mention I napped alot?

Then with Halle I continued the eating in the middle of the night and slept when Brady slept. No exercise. Now with this one, I maybe can count the number of naps I've had on both my hands, am running non stop becaue Halle is miss adventurerer slash daredevil and Brady is 3....what more can I say about that! Besides that I do not wake up in the middle of the night to eat and when I am at work I signed up for $30/ a year to the gym we have in the basement and have been using the stationery bike 2-3 days a week. I mentioned like no naps and no midnight snacking right? Yep. I am so proud of myself! Now, I did start out a little heavier than normal when I got pregnant with this baby, but, I'm still very happy with how it is going. And, granted, I still have like 7 weeks left and I'm supposed to gain a pound a week, but I could have massive jumps in weight, but I am going to be optimisitic.

Oh, and the ultrasound went well, they were checking to make sure the baby's placenta had moved away from cervix so that the baby could come out and it did move up, with Halle I had the same thing so I wasn't worried, but I always love to hear that there will be no planned c-section! The baby looked good too, enough fluid and strong heart beat 136.

So! We're just chillin' at home today, skipped ECFE due to the colds, and we're just going to love life at home today!

Megan - HELLO! I have been reading your blog for a while now. I found it off of Melissa's. It is so strange to see someone who I use to watch play soccer in high school is now blessed with 2 (almost 3) beautiful children! I feel like I was just at your wedding and now babies! Very wonderful! Best of luck with the next one!

There are two kinds of people: Part Two - The non-movers

Coffee cup in one hand, veggie/fruit smoothie in the other. No seriously, that's what I have on each side of me as I write. I'm smiling because of how funny this is, as it seems to also relate to this conundrum of a topic before us. There are two kinds of people, and there are definitely two kinds of beverages.  My caffeinated beverage on my left brings me a one sided joy that I cannot even begin to detail. I love my coffee. And I really do think it loves me back. At least for a while. As I peer out of the corner of my eye to the right, I see the greenish grainy drink to my right. Today the fennel seeds in it do not make it seem as dirty  I mean, like I just gathered them from the dirt without rinsing and sprinkled them in there kind of dirty. Maybe it was the splash of OJ I decided to add to it this morning. Now, I know that this drink loves me. It is good for many aspects of my life. Health, energy, sustenance, power. But I do not enjoy it as much. When I make my ...

There are two kinds of people: Part One

This topic has been on my mind for quite a few years, and I always tell my ultra hip (yeah right) self, that I should write about it. So finally, after this last revelation that, yes, there are two kinds of people in this world, I needed to get it off my chest. There are two kinds of people in this world. "But Megan?" you quickly rebut, "No there's not! There are so many kinds of people in this world. Short people, tall people, loud people, introverted people, French people, people who like food, people who are allergic to grass, dog people, cat people, this list is endless." And to you I say, "Well of course." But  here's the deal. When it comes down to it. We are all, but one of two kinds of people. And I'll kindly, yet firmly, break it down for y'all. There are two kinds of people in this world. And you WILL fall under one of these categories. Are you ready? Here, I'll set the scene. You are walking down the sidewalk....

A picture, a moment.

My husband and I went to Mexico last February. This was our last night there. Or was it? We had not gone on a vacation in 10 years! This photo is unique and amazing in so many ways. I had gotten a new camera, and all vacation, I would mess around with new settings. What time of day was this? Looks like a sunset right? It's not! It was a sunrise! I  had some strange setting, that I have not been able to replicate. But it made this look like our last night there, but it was our last morning. I awoke early so I could be on the beach when the sun came up.If I could keep a memory that included sense of smell, feeling, sound, and sight, it would be this, wrapped with a bow. I was the only one out there in the early hours, which was amazing in and of itself. I took a lot of other shots by the water, and a little while later when I was heading back, I turned around, and took a shot off the upper patio of the resort. And this is what I got. It is my favorite picture...
