Okie dokie

So. We had a loooooong day today! I am so very tired! We went to the Art Institute and toured the school and started the process for signing Tom up for Culinary School...very cool. He is very excited but more nervous than excited! I think every first time college student has those kinds of jitters. So we were there from about 10:30 am-12:30 pm. Oh, and of course we parked in the wrong parking ramp, the one that is like temperature regulated and so very expensive per 1/2 an hour. Yep, that one.

Not that you can tell this, because I like to correct my errors...but I cannot type write now, I keep forgetting to finish typing a word or mix up the letters...I have been using the back space alot in this post!

Then, it was off to Shelby's doctor appointment. We grabbed a quick bite to eat there, and then went to the clinic, where again, a procession of doctors were able to view my child's cute little bottom. I felt so bad for her because her butt is so raw from "pooping out" this ear infection from the antibiotics. Not only that, but with the hemangioma, it has ulcerated which means it's broken open and infected, so it's all bleeding and gooey. Yuck. But so imagine when she pees and poops how that feels on an open wound!! She just screams...and I cry.

But did anyone catch something? Did I say hemangioma and not vascular malformation???? I think I did! Which means yes, prayers have been answered! The dermatologist really, really, really believes now that her thingy, is an infantile hemangioma, NOT a vascular malformation! That means, it will just shrink away, basically, as she grows up. It is still, a little bit of a waiting game, but that is the game plan now, to just wait. They are not going to order up all the different tests they were going to do, yahooooo, but, we still have to finish out seeing this last doctor about her bladder (which in my heart I know is fine) and then we see dermatology in March to make sure the ulcerated part of her hemangioma has healed correctly!!

So, truly, Praise the Lord! Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!! The best news we have had in awhile. I KNOW many of you have been praying for her, and I cannot say in words how thankful we are for them. Thank you.

So now, if her little butt would just heal up from the infection, and her ear...well, she just may be "normal" again! Oh how I love her!

There are two kinds of people: Part Two - The non-movers

Coffee cup in one hand, veggie/fruit smoothie in the other. No seriously, that's what I have on each side of me as I write. I'm smiling because of how funny this is, as it seems to also relate to this conundrum of a topic before us. There are two kinds of people, and there are definitely two kinds of beverages.  My caffeinated beverage on my left brings me a one sided joy that I cannot even begin to detail. I love my coffee. And I really do think it loves me back. At least for a while. As I peer out of the corner of my eye to the right, I see the greenish grainy drink to my right. Today the fennel seeds in it do not make it seem as dirty  I mean, like I just gathered them from the dirt without rinsing and sprinkled them in there kind of dirty. Maybe it was the splash of OJ I decided to add to it this morning. Now, I know that this drink loves me. It is good for many aspects of my life. Health, energy, sustenance, power. But I do not enjoy it as much. When I make my ...

Round two!

I got to come home for a little bit and play with Brady and Halle, give them a bath (me a shower) and then laid them down for a nap. I took some ibuprofen, I think I have an overdose of a "caffeine, lack of sleep, still wearing my contacts" headache! So now I am going to try and nap a little and then it's back to the hospital with Shelby for round two of SLUMBER PARTY AT THE HOSPITAL WITH A SICK BABY! Not worthy of all caps joy, but I'm trying to be optimistic about it all! So we had a rough night last night, she didn't sleep for a full hour from 9-1am, then she had a bit of an issue with her nebulizer treatment (meaning she didn't like it) and then her IV came out. Yadda yadda. Finally at 3 am she was ready to settle down and then she slept till 7am. On my chest. Luckily I was tired enough to get most of that sleep as well, until about 6:30ish. I just feel so bad for her! I felt bad for me a little too about 1:00 am. I wanted to just cry my eyes out from bein...

Who did we welcome home TODAY????

Shelby Capri Bergman 6 lbs. 5 oz. , 19.5 inches long May 30th, 2008 10:52 pm I just want you all to know that everything went picture perfect. She's beautiful, she's healthy and she's very content. I don't have a ton of pictures yet, my mom took pictures during delivery and I took some today when we got home, but since we don't have internet at home now, it will be slow coming! I had my membranes stripped at 9:45 am on Friday. Afterwards, Tom and I went to Walmart, Applebees's, my sister's classroom to help move some stuff (I supervised... I was a little sore), and then home. I took a nap and Tom started getting ready for supper. His 4 hour long, grilled ribs...and that is how the story begins! So we keep joking that I am going to go during his first trial run with the ribs. This starts at around 3:30 pm. Then, we run out of propane and start all over a...
