I had a wonderful

Christmas! We had a great Christmas here at the Bergman residence! Christmas Eve was spent lounging around until Church at 3:30pm...which was a beautiful service! Then it was off to my dad's to spend with his wife Kathi, her son Eric and girlfriend Ashley (who, got the flu right when we got there and had to spend the rest of the evening in this bedroom that is kind of in a basement/boathouse/NO bathroom room...ughh, poor girl), my sister and her hubby, my Aunt Gail, and grandparents. We had a great meal, Kathi always has fresh corn that she freezes from the summer-right off the cob! Love it! Anyway, then "Santa" came aka...Dad! The kids loved it! As soon as he walked in, Brady said, "Santa? I want Spike the Dinosaur!" We all got a big giggle out of that. Brady has been asking for Spike from Santa for the last two months. That is t-h-e ONLY thing he would say he wanted.

And, on our christmas morning with our completed family.... Santa did provide! We felt so blessed to watch his little face light up as he opened the magnificent SPIKE!

Halle's favorite was a tea set, and Shelby, well, Shelby would have been happy with the wrapping paper, but I think she liked the little sea horse with the tummy that lights up and plays music! Tom and I have chosen to not exchange gifts, we love to watch our children enjoy the magic!

Then I tried explaining the reason for Christmas, that it was Jesus's birthday. Brady said, "But mom, Jesus is all around, we can't sing happy birthday to Him?!!" aaahhghhmmmm...

It was cute.

Then we spent Christmas Day with Tom's family and had eggbake for brunch and Flank Steak for supper. Supper time Brady's cousin Ross, the same age, proceeded to get the flu. Aww man, right? But wait, we have dodged the flu 3 times now!! My mom's side Christmas on the 20th, Christmas Eve and at Dad's, and Christmas Day! We are so healthy (besides a little pink eye floating around amongst us), but hey, I'll take that any day over the you-know-what! We have all been so healthy, and happy, and feelin' good lately...I love it! We've really made a conscious effort ( a few glitches, like when Halle tried helping me give Shelby a bath as Shelby had poop all over her and Halle thought it would be fun to play in the water, and I couldn't get Halle to get down because I had my hands full with a poopy baby, so I might have firmly told her in a chaotic, sort of voice to get down...now...please), but I had a quick recovery, thanks to my accountability partner, aka husband Tom.

So yeah! And Today! Look at the beautiful snow! It is so perfectly beautiful! Where is my fireplace and hot chocolate? Ok, no fireplace, but I do have some hot chocolate!!!!!

There are two kinds of people: Part Two - The non-movers

Coffee cup in one hand, veggie/fruit smoothie in the other. No seriously, that's what I have on each side of me as I write. I'm smiling because of how funny this is, as it seems to also relate to this conundrum of a topic before us. There are two kinds of people, and there are definitely two kinds of beverages.  My caffeinated beverage on my left brings me a one sided joy that I cannot even begin to detail. I love my coffee. And I really do think it loves me back. At least for a while. As I peer out of the corner of my eye to the right, I see the greenish grainy drink to my right. Today the fennel seeds in it do not make it seem as dirty  I mean, like I just gathered them from the dirt without rinsing and sprinkled them in there kind of dirty. Maybe it was the splash of OJ I decided to add to it this morning. Now, I know that this drink loves me. It is good for many aspects of my life. Health, energy, sustenance, power. But I do not enjoy it as much. When I make my ...

Round two!

I got to come home for a little bit and play with Brady and Halle, give them a bath (me a shower) and then laid them down for a nap. I took some ibuprofen, I think I have an overdose of a "caffeine, lack of sleep, still wearing my contacts" headache! So now I am going to try and nap a little and then it's back to the hospital with Shelby for round two of SLUMBER PARTY AT THE HOSPITAL WITH A SICK BABY! Not worthy of all caps joy, but I'm trying to be optimistic about it all! So we had a rough night last night, she didn't sleep for a full hour from 9-1am, then she had a bit of an issue with her nebulizer treatment (meaning she didn't like it) and then her IV came out. Yadda yadda. Finally at 3 am she was ready to settle down and then she slept till 7am. On my chest. Luckily I was tired enough to get most of that sleep as well, until about 6:30ish. I just feel so bad for her! I felt bad for me a little too about 1:00 am. I wanted to just cry my eyes out from bein...

Who did we welcome home TODAY????

Shelby Capri Bergman 6 lbs. 5 oz. , 19.5 inches long May 30th, 2008 10:52 pm I just want you all to know that everything went picture perfect. She's beautiful, she's healthy and she's very content. I don't have a ton of pictures yet, my mom took pictures during delivery and I took some today when we got home, but since we don't have internet at home now, it will be slow coming! I had my membranes stripped at 9:45 am on Friday. Afterwards, Tom and I went to Walmart, Applebees's, my sister's classroom to help move some stuff (I supervised... I was a little sore), and then home. I took a nap and Tom started getting ready for supper. His 4 hour long, grilled ribs...and that is how the story begins! So we keep joking that I am going to go during his first trial run with the ribs. This starts at around 3:30 pm. Then, we run out of propane and start all over a...
