I did it!

A small feat, but I did it ! I ran a race! Yes, it was only 2 miles, but it felt good!

I have only been exercising, doing the Shred by Jillian Micheals the Biggest Loser trainer. Which I must say is amazing and I have been noticing huge improvements. So I feel really in shape, and every year I always tell myself, "I should go do the Isanti Jubilee Days Fitness Run." And so finally, just a couple of days ago I told myself I would!

So on Friday I did a test run....3 miles. I thought I was going to die! I must also add, in my defense, I went at like noon, and it was blazing hot. Thought I was going to die! So then the whole rest of the day, I thought it was a bad idea! I also thought it was a 5k, but it turned out it was only a 2 mile run or 5 mile run. I definitely took the 2 mile run!

I told my mom last night like at 10 pm that I was going to run the next morning...and to my surprise, she came to cheer me on! It felt really good! I rode my bike there since I only live like a mile from where it was...good warm up! And then I got there early, my running number was 5 :) (the number of kids I would have...but we compromised at three...that's called great communication and love people!)

Anyway, a couple of my friends showed up and we were off!!! It felt great, except I had drank so much water before hand, well you guessed it, I had to use the bathroom like the whole time! I told one of the girls (who had just had a baby 6 weeks ago), that it felt like I was 9 months pregnant and the baby was bouncing on my bladder! Except for at the end when I put my ipod on to Group 1 Crew's icontact song and then I kicked it down for the ending...which felt amazing. I never felt out of breath, I felt awesome!!

So yeah! That's that! I had a great time!

I was so bummed I didn't get to actually talk to you this morning. As usual...getting 4 children out of the door with 2 adults by 7:30am...well it usually doens't go very quickly. This morning was no exception, but I was pleased that we made it..READY and in time. NO flat tires on strollers, missing shoes or forgotten water.
And also as usual, since we were both pushing double jogging strollers we waited to start until the back of the pack ( our numbers were 146 & 147)...so needless to say I am sure I never caught up to you! Not to mention that my girls wanted to stop at BOTH potties along the 5 mile course...kidn of slowed us up!
ANYHOW...congrats on your race...we love that one. We have done it for many years now..even before babies and it's always a great time! Great job...what was your time?

I don't even know what my time was!! I didn't have a watch, and if they yelled it out at the finish, I had my music on! And I forgot to ask if they took the times down!!!

But I felt like I did fairly well for not doing it before!! :) I am a little bugged, I do want to know what my time was at least!! Ha!

Good for you! Maybe someday I'll get up my guts too! Or maybe not... but I can come cheer on all my bloggie friends!
Because it's a FREE race they do not keep track of times unless you place. I didn't remember to listen for my time either!!!

YOU ROCK girl!!! I didn't know you liked running!!! We should totally go sometime:) I have kinda been slacking lately....

I made Jaden come with me the other night on a 3 mile run. He rode his bike about 1.75 miles and then Ken had to come pick him up! It was nice company for awhile anyways!

There are two kinds of people: Part Two - The non-movers

Coffee cup in one hand, veggie/fruit smoothie in the other. No seriously, that's what I have on each side of me as I write. I'm smiling because of how funny this is, as it seems to also relate to this conundrum of a topic before us. There are two kinds of people, and there are definitely two kinds of beverages.  My caffeinated beverage on my left brings me a one sided joy that I cannot even begin to detail. I love my coffee. And I really do think it loves me back. At least for a while. As I peer out of the corner of my eye to the right, I see the greenish grainy drink to my right. Today the fennel seeds in it do not make it seem as dirty  I mean, like I just gathered them from the dirt without rinsing and sprinkled them in there kind of dirty. Maybe it was the splash of OJ I decided to add to it this morning. Now, I know that this drink loves me. It is good for many aspects of my life. Health, energy, sustenance, power. But I do not enjoy it as much. When I make my coffee

Still here...Day Two.

Well, I still miss my kids horribly. Especially this morning when I heard that Shelby was up alot during the night. She has not been up in the middle of the night in 3 weeks, and it made me feel guilty for leaving her. I felt and feel, like I should be home with them. I know the woman who is watching them, that if she hears even the slightest little peep out of the kids would go rushing in to their room. I really don't want Shelby to get used to someone picking her up in the middle of the night for little rustles and sighs. But maybe I am just anxious, and maybe it is not really that big of a deal. Maybe I should just enjoy my time with my thoughts, my books and my husband. But honestly, I am anxious because I feel like the can't live with out me (don't laugh, besides I know it's over dramatic:)), I haven't even attempted to pick up one of my books, and my husband is driving me nuts because it does not bother him one bit that we are 3 hours away from our little bund

Who did we welcome home TODAY????

Shelby Capri Bergman 6 lbs. 5 oz. , 19.5 inches long May 30th, 2008 10:52 pm I just want you all to know that everything went picture perfect. She's beautiful, she's healthy and she's very content. I don't have a ton of pictures yet, my mom took pictures during delivery and I took some today when we got home, but since we don't have internet at home now, it will be slow coming! I had my membranes stripped at 9:45 am on Friday. Afterwards, Tom and I went to Walmart, Applebees's, my sister's classroom to help move some stuff (I supervised... I was a little sore), and then home. I took a nap and Tom started getting ready for supper. His 4 hour long, grilled ribs...and that is how the story begins! So we keep joking that I am going to go during his first trial run with the ribs. This starts at around 3:30 pm. Then, we run out of propane and start all over a
